  An Absolute Dream Positano was an absolute dream come true. I have had Positano & the Amalfi Coast on my bucket list for years and years! I would always see it all over Instagram, and it just looked unreal to me. I had actual dreams at night that I was there, in the water, looking at the beautiful lit up city on the hill- that reminds you of the little lit up Christmas village homes that people put on display- except this was real. I wondered if being there in person would feel just like it did in my dreams, and it did. It just doesn't even look real. My favorite memory here was going down to the beach at dinner time, at L'incanto, enjoying wonderful lemon ravioli paired with a limoncello spritzer, and taking in the scene of the lit up hillside of Positano. Truly the whole time I was here I could never get over the views. It is like walking around a living painting!  Try the lemon ravioli. You won't regret it!  What to Expect Positano is one of the most romantic places I have ever been to (although I was not with my man I would love to come back here with him some day) and one of the most charming. I truly enjoyed every minute here. Your legs will thank you too. Positano is all incline- a great workout, although there is no way possible to avoid steep inclines and stairs. Unfortunately, Positano is not set up for people with disabilities or physical challenges. To my surprise, there is a large elderly community that lives here, I can't imagine them walking all of those stairs everyday! This is somewhere I have even considered for my wedding with how romantic it is, but it would not be accessible at all to some of my disabled family members, and it wouldn't be worth it to not have them there! Besides the steep inclines, expect the best pizza and limoncello you have ever had. My favorite pizza was the heart shaped pizza that you can get at Chez Black at the beach- was it the taste of the pizza or the fact that it was shaped as a heart that made me like it better? You can be the determiner of that when you try it, lol!   Photo edited with "Beach Shack" from the Aruba Preset Pack The Amalfi and Sorrentine Coast make some of the best limoncello in the entire world. Amalfi Coast lemons make nearly 1 million liters of limoncello for Pallini alone. However, you can taste exceptional homemade limoncello at most places in Positano, with many restaurants growing the lemons right in their backyard. Most restaurants will give you one oz limoncello after your meal. My personal favorite- a limoncello spritzer!  Enjoying my limoncello spritzer before boating to Capri The Roads The roads are EXTREMELY windy on the cliffside of the Amalfi Coast. I personally throughly enjoy it, but if you are someone who gets carsick, definitely take a dramamine before this one! It is about a 90 minute drive from the Naples airport to Positano. The reason it takes so long is because you have to drive entirely through the cliffs. It is the most beautiful scenic drive! Where to Stay Since we booked out trip last minute, most of the hotels were averaging around $2,000 a night. We stayed a little bit on the edge of the town for only $139 a night. It was a beautiful 20 minute walk into the town, and our hotel was so cute! I would definitely choose that option again. we stayed at La Sorgente del Sol, the cutest family owned villa turned into 3 individual rooms, with a main area that had a hot tub and beautiful balcony. If found this place from my friend's blog, Blonde Boarding, and I highly recommend!  The view from our little villa! Other Places to Stay:   Aperol Spritz plz!  Pizza or Pasta?! Where to Eat It is no doubt at all that eating is the single best part about Italy. You really can't go wrong with sitting down at any restaurant. Here are some of my favorites:  Gelato for breakfast please! Things to Do Besides wandering the enchanting streets of Positano and hanging out at the cutest beaches, here are some other things to do in Positano.  Photo edited with 'Boulangerie' from the St. Tropez Preset Pack Path of the Gods This is one of my favorite things we did! Path of the Gods, or 'Sentiero degli Dei.' It is called the Path of the Gods because of the beautiful views that make the sea meet the sky, but it also has a Greek mythological background as well. The path was first carved out by Greek settlers in the 8th century B.C., where they say the Gods came down from heaven to the Path and the sirens of the sea would try to seduce them. The best part about this hike is you aren't hiking to just one destination with a great view- the ENTIRE hike is an incredible view of the Amalfi Coast in the mountains. The mountains and path are covered with "Pede'e Palomme," or "Dove's Paw" grapevines and mediterranean scrub." We started in Agerola in the early morning, which is where I recommend starting so that you are walking downhill with amazing views the entire time. Wear comfortable shoes, and hiking shoes if you have them, as it can get pretty steep in some areas. You WILL be covered in dirt, just FYI so wear something you aren't planning on wearing again during your trip. We had coffee and pastries at our starting point at Piazza Paolo Capasso in Bomerano (you will need to fuel up for this one). This is about a 3 hour hike, with so many amazing sights along the way. You will pass ruins of ancient homes, family owned vineyards, livestock, and monasteries. The path smells like thyme and rosemary, as that is a huge crop that grows there. There are a couple small family restaurants on the way. We stopped at one about halfway, and had the best homemade limoncello. All of the food was grown right there in the back of their home, served to our table! It was so refreshing and delicious.  By the end of the path, ending in Nocelle (right by Positano and directly next to our hotel), there are 10,000 stairs down to finish. There were so many stairs that my brain started glitching and had a hard time gauging the size of the stairs on the way down, LOL! Our legs were all shaking and trembling by the end, but it was SO worth it! Make sure you eat A LOT after this to allow your body to recover.  Day Trip to Amalfi The town of Amalfi is about an hour drive from Positano, or you many people take a boat here. Amalfi is one of Italy's most famous shorelines. Unfortunately we didn't have time to make it here this trip, but next time it is going to be first on my list!    Capri You can take a day trip to the island of Capri or some people decide to stay here for a few nights! It is a short 30 minute boat ride to the island. If you do a day trip, I would recommend reserving a boat in advance, and do the full boat day. They will take you all around Capri's iconic views where you can see everything from the famous Blue Grotto to the Faraglioni. Capri is so beautiful, it is definitely something you don't want to miss.    Enjoying some dilizia al limone- a traditional lemon cake of the Amalfi Coast Santa Maria Assunta Church The Santa Maria Church was a Byzantine monastery in the 10th century. Now made into a church, it is a popular spot for tourists to come visit and also pray. It is a defining piece of architecture in the Positano skyline! Here are some of the highest rated wine tours:  Limoncello Tours I did not have time to experience a limoncello tour this trip, but it is also top of my list for next time! Here are some of the highest rated tours that I found:  Pompeii Pompeii is definitely something to see on the way back to the Naples airport or as a day trip from Positano. I would recommend scheduling out at least 2 hours to see here! If you have more time- I would recommend doing a guided tour so that you can learn more about the history.
